Fraternity and Sorority - Joining

If you are trying to find a fraternity or a sorority to join, you would either need to know someone in that group already, or find an advertisement in the local school paper, or go to the fraternity or sorority house and ask how to become a member.

Here are some things you can say initially:

"Hi, I was interested in joining a fraternity. What is the process to get in?"
"Hi. I was wondering what I needed to do to get into this sorority."
"Are you taking in members now?"
"Where can I find information on joining this sorority?"

After the initial sentence, they should respond with more information. Here is an example.

"We take new members every semester. All you need to do is fill out this application, and then we will contact you for an interview."
"Every Monday at 10 am, we have an informational session about our sorority. I highly recommend you attend if you are interested."

If you ask a question about information, they might respond with a question such as,

"What would you like to know?"

You can ask the following questions if you have this opportunity.

"How much does it cost each month?"
"What meals are included with the monthly rent?"
"How many people are in this sorority?"
"What activities do you have in this fraternity?"
"Do you have tours of the building?"
"What is the policy during summer break? Can we stay in the frat house during the summer months?"
"How long has this fraternity been around?"

Se si sta cercando di trovare una fraternità o di una confraternita di aderire, si dovrà o conoscere già qualcuno in quel gruppo, o trovare un annuncio sul giornale della scuola locale, o andare in fraternità o sorority house e chiedere come diventare un utente.

Qui ci sono alcune cose che si possono dire inizialmente:

"Ciao, io ero interessato a entrare in una confraternita. Qual è il processo per entrare?"
"Ciao. Mi chiedevo che cosa ho dovuto fare per entrare in questa confraternita."
"Stai prendendo in membri adesso?"
"Dove posso trovare informazioni su come entrare questa confraternita?"

Dopo la frase iniziale, dovrebbero rispondere con più informazioni. Ecco un esempio.

"Prendiamo nuovi membri ogni semestre. Tutto quello che devi fare è compilare questa applicazione, quindi vi contatteremo per un colloquio."
"Ogni Lunedi alle ore 10, abbiamo una sessione informativa circa la nostra confraternita. Consiglio vivamente di partecipare, se siete interessati."

Se hai una domanda su informazioni, potrebbero rispondere con una domanda del tipo,

"Cosa vuoi sapere?"

Potete chiedere le seguenti domande se avete questa opportunità.

"Quanto costa ogni mese?"
"Quello che i pasti sono inclusi con l'affitto mensile?"
"Quante persone ci sono in questa confraternita?"
"Quali attività avete in questa fraternità?"
"Hai guidate al palazzo?"
"Qual è la politica durante la pausa estiva? Possiamo rimanere nella confraternita durante i mesi estivi?"
"Da quanto tempo questa fraternità stato in giro?"
