N.b.  nella  domanda si dice : where's the post office?
         Nella risposta : there's a post office in..
                                  There's one in....

Where's the nearest one?  Dove stà quella più vicino?
It's in Market street

Nb con I nomi delle strade non si usa l'articolo, quindi si dice:
In market street  e non. In the market street

LE PREPOSIZIONI

Near here      vicino
over there      laggiu, indicare la direzione da seguire
in Market street
on the left
opposite the bank  difronte alla banca
next to the post office   accanto all'ufficio postale

per dire che qualcosa é vicino:

where's the grand hotel?
it's near here (its nia hia)

where's the post office?
it's near the hospital

si può anche indicare la direzione:

where's the park?
it's over there 
it's on the left

where's the grand hotel?
it's in Market street
the grand hotel is opposite the bank and it's next to the post office

DOVE SI TROVA LA GENTE

where's mr Jones?
he's in his office

is miss Brown in? c'e la signorina Brown ?
she isn't in her room

Bob, where are you?
in london
where in london?
in south (saut) street

n.b si usa in con i nomi di strade, citta e paesi.( in England, in Spain..)

Altro modo per dire dove sta una persona:

she's at the grand hotel     at seguito dal nome del posto

where's John? 
he's at the cinema
and katy?
she's at the theatre 
and Alice?
she's at a party

n.b   at si usa per riferirsi sia ad una attivita che ad un luogo

where's Bill?
he's at his girl's friend   è a casa della sua ragazza        si può anche usare il nome della ragazza e dire:
he's at Jane's

per dire che qualcuno sta a casa propria:
he's at home
per dire che qualcuno sta al lavoro:
she's at work
I'm at work

he isn't in his office               
he's at home
he's at work
he's at a party


DOVE E' ANDATO QUALCUNO

Where's Mary? she's not at home
she's (she has) gone to the cinema
she's gone to work
ma per dire che e' andata a casa non si usa to:
she's gone home

where's Francis?                              he's in his office         
where's Francis now?                       he's gone home

Alice isn't here. she's at a party.                                  she's gone to a party
mr Jones isn't here. He's in his office                          he's gone to his office
Mr. Jones isn't here. He's at work                               he's gone to work
Bob isn't at London airport. He's at home                   he's gone home

Where's Mary? She's not at home. She's at the cinema.              She's gone to the cinema
Mary dice:
I'm at cinema. I'm at work.                                                              She's gone to work

Where's Francis? isn't here (he's at home)                                     He's gone home

They're here (they are here)
They're at the grand hotel
they aren't in their room (they are not)
are they in the bar?
